Brady Hatter

Hi, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Brady Hatter. I'm am a Sculpture major planning to graduate in May of 2009. Previously I had spent a few years at KSU. I knew I wanted to be a sculptor, but I didn't really find my passion and direction for my art until I came here. When I entered WSU in the fall of 2006 I was filled with a desire to create. I didn't know what my art was about conceptually, but I continually found that my sculpture took parts of the natural world and collided it with the modern.

I like the idea of creating a new alternate biology for these natural objects and rendering them with the use of today's technology. Motion and movement is used to reanimate the natural objects with a modern human interpretation of what life can be.

The invented science holds the memory of the natural world yet displays its collision and morphology with technology.  I see my work as recreating the natural motion of the world with a higher degree of reality.

I personally am discovering my relationship with the natural world in my artwork. My artistic interpretations become almost a spiritual exploration of reconnecting with my primitive being. I find peace in that. Thank you.
